Not a good day

Well all I wish I had better news to report. I had a miscarriage yesterday. We are truly sad and pretty bummed about this situation, as this is my third time going through this. We know though that God has a plan for everything and this just isn't the right time. We are praying that He will guide us through this and show us what to do next. We are SO thankful right now that we have Chase. We are so glad that God chose us to be his parents...he makes this situation just a little easier.
I'll spare you all the details of yesterday but will share the new love that I have for my husband. I was at my worst yesterday and he was right beside me the entire way and I'm so thankful to him for being so strong. I also want to shout out a HUGE thanks to the nurse at Dr. Lorenc's office and the nurses at Dupont Hospital. My surgery ended up needing to happen pretty quick last night instead of today and they were all so nice and supportive the entire time. I can't thank them enough..I know they won't ever read this but their names are Robin, Stacy, Julie, Michelle and Crystal.
More thanks to Tobie&Carla and Betty for taking such good care of Chase while we had to be away. We love you!!
Sorry for the not so good blog..thanks for praying for our family.

New Hoop

Chase got a new Basketball hoop last week. A late Christmas present from Mommy and Daddy. He loves it!!! For a little guy he doesn't do too bad shooting either. He's still not quite walking all of the time, but making progress. Enjoy!

Standing on my own

Chase decided he'd give standing on his own a try today and he is SO proud of himself!!! Usually he has to be holding onto something but I guess he thought otherwise today. Hopefully this is is the start of something good. He even took some steps without falling over right away. He's 18 months now so let's hope he'll be totally mobile soon! Then we'll want him to crawl again I'm sure. Enjoy! Look at me!!!!
Maybe I'll give this walking thing a shot after all
What a big boy!!!!

Look at me!!!

Chase has successfully completed the task of climbing up and down from the coffee table all by himself. I'm not too thrilled about it but he was so proud of himself I thought I'd share the pictures. Maybe he'll forget about it now. He really likes being up on the couch much better but can't quite do that by himself yet. climbing up
look at me..I'm hot stuff!!!
climbing down
I made it without falling on my face! :)

New Shoes

Chase got his ankle braces (real name: smo's) and new shoes last Thursday and is doing pretty well with them so far. (Thanks for buying the shoes Grandpa and Grandma Graves!) We haven't seen a huge change but they don't seem to bug him too much either. He does seem to be a little more steady on his feet now. Hopefully we'll have a little walker soon.
You can't even really tell he has the braces on but he does.

BIG NEWS

Well the test doesn't lie! WE ARE EXPECTING BABY #2!! As I type this I am pretty nervous because we are only about 8 weeks along and wouldn't usually tell people quite this early but here we go anyway! I go to the doctor on Feb 4th, we are praying that everything goes smoothly between now and then. I haven't been feeling the best which I hear is a good sign. I've had some good days though too. I did call the doctor and now have some medicine for nausea if I need it. We think our due date is around August 19th, 2008. Apparently the Graves family is meant to have summer babies! We would also like to congratulate my cousin Ryan Peppler and his wife Jamie who are also expecting a baby around the same time as us. Congrats Pepplers!
Mommy, soon to be big brother Chase and Daddy! Please keep our baby in your prayers.

Christmas

Here are some shots from our family Christmas gatherings. We feel so blessed to be close to family especially over the holidays. Chase didn't really care much about presents this year so maybe next year he'll be a little more excited. Good for us though...I didn't even wrap the toys we got him. Thanks so much to all of our families for the wonderful gifts and time we got to spend with you! Grandpa and Grandma Graves at their house. We missed you Aunt Jodi and Uncle PJ. Sorry I didn't get any good pics of Madison either but just know she was there. :)

It's been a while

Hi all! I am really sorry that it's taken this long to post something new. The holidays were EXTREMELY busy for us and as I've said before our computer is SUPER SLOW!!!!! It takes me forever to get a few pictures uploaded so I'm doing my best to update everyone today. Here are some pics of Chase in the last couple of weeks. He's got some new tricks. "standing on your head" as we call it
If Chad is laying on the floor Chase climbs all over him. It's really funny!
Stand on your head!
Taking steps! Chase has been working with a physical therapist from First Steps for about 8-9 months now due to low muscle tone. He's been just a little behind in some areas of physical development but he has made huge strides lately. He is taking some steps now and working on the walking thing. Good job Chaser man!!! He just got ankle braces a couple of days ago to help him with walking. He's doing well with them so far. I'll post more pics soon.
