Just a cute one

Just a cute picture of Chase that I thought I'd share.

4-H Fair

I was able to meet up with my childhood friend, Gretchen, at the Whitley county 4-H fair this year. Gretchen just moved to PA this week and is expecting her 3rd baby(also a boy) in November. We just don't get to see each other much anymore, but do keep in contact through email quite often. It was so good to see her, walk around at the fair, and reminisce about our old 4-H days. And would you believe these are the ONLY pictures I took at the fair? True story.

We tried for a second attempt to get the kids to look and smile but no such luck. But don't Gretchen and I have great smiles?????? :)

Eric and Julie

We went to a reception for a friend from high school, Eric, who got married in Phoenix last month. He has a beautiful bride, Julie! It was good to get together with friends on a HOT day! Julie and Eric
Cara, Brian(Eric's brother), and Kristen. We try to get a photo whenever we are together.

The guys. Back: Josh and Dave. Front: Matt, Chad and Eric. They had a picture taken in high school with this same pose. It seems whenever they are together this pose just happens to come out again, along with some laughs about being old.
I of course wanted a picture with all of us, but it started raining and that didn't happen. Maybe next time, which I hope isn't too far away. Congrats Eric and Julie!

20 weeks

Here's my 20 week belly for our next baby boy, who we are pretty sure will be named Cooper. We have several middle names that we like, so still working on that. I have been feeling super, praise the Lord! This little guy has become active and I have been feeling movement for a couple of weeks. We had a full ultrasound at 18 weeks and everything checked out wonderfully. I head back to the doctor this Friday. Please continue to pray for our little boy!

First ER trip

About 10 days ago we took our first trip to the ER for Chase. He and I were at the splash pad on a REALLY hot day, it was crazy busy. Chase, being the shy guy that he is, was just running around the outside of the pad watching all of the kids. I say to him "Chase, if you aren't going to get in then we'll just go home". Well that was a mistake. The first time he runs in he crashes into a MUCH larger kid than him, gets knocked over, and landed on the bottom of the pile. I just saw the tail end of the crash but then see Chas get up screaming with blood running down his face. He was wearing his sunglasses so I think that's what cut him. He had a really deep cut and when the bleeding stopped it was decided that he would probably need stitches. We called Chad(who was at the grocery store) and went to the ER. I was shocked at how well he did in the ER. He let the nurses weigh him, take his vitals and clean the cut all without a fight. The nurses told us it would be painful and sting when he got the numbing medication. I did not think I could handle any of this part so I left the room. I know....I know....I'm a nurse....but almost passed out myself while in the OR for my surgery rotation for nursing school. Not my department for sure!!!!! Thank goodness Chad was there and stayed with him. Chase did in fact scream and cry for the numbing medication(who wouldn't?) but was an allstar(or so Chad said, I didn't see any of it) for the sewing up. His eye has healed up very nicely, the stitches are now out and he will probably have a small scar. And we will be avoiding the splash pad on such busy days from now on, or at the very least I will not be telling Chase to run in again!!!

4 year pictures

Here are some of Chase's 4 year pictures taken by Lindsay. She took our pictures last fall and I just loved them. I can't say enough about these pictures either. I LOVED all of them.....I am a little biased though. We came across Chad's high school baseball jersey and I got the idea to use it for Chase's pictures. Then I decided he needed a basketball jersey too with Chad being a coach.

I highly recommend Lindsay to anyone that needs pictures taken.....she does an amazing job!

4th birthday: part 2

Part two of Chase's birthday was at our house with family. We had a blast at this one too! It was super hot that day!!! More group shots.....Chase was supposed to be front and center but he wanted Paw Paw Tobie to hold him (shocker) so Chad and I were the chosen ones!

The birthday boy with all his presents, I believe he told everyone "It's my birthday"

One of his favorite things right now: a "motor-bixcycle". I'm not even sure how to spell that but that's how Chase says it. He loves to see them on the road and points them out. He doesn't so much love them when they are loud. He usually says "Are they gonna get me?"

So Maw Maw (Carla) brought him a motorcycle cake

This last story might be one of those "You had to be there" moments but I'll attempt to explain. Obviously, you all know Chad's love for sports, and it is looking like Chase will follow right along in his foot steps, so during the summer we play baseball. Chase has taken a liking to learning the game. Earlier in the summer while at a baseball game of Tyler's at Morsches park, Chase spotted the catcher and became scared of his mask (or "max" as chase says). So for a while he didn't even want to enter the park because "the catcher is going to get me". But after we explained why the catcher wears a mask and that is wasn't scary at all, he's kind of started liking the catchers.
So.....at the birthday party Chase wanted to play baseball. After a while he wanted to be the catcher, so I told him to go get his mask. I am not lying when I say that he came up with the idea for the "mask" all on his own. Earlier in the week(before his party), he came up with the idea to use one of his toys, so he used it during the game at his party. I hope this makes sense when you see the pictures.

Here is Chase being the batter at first

Now....he's the catcher. I believe his words were...."I need a batter". We all CRACKED up laughing. I especially like his stance. Can you tell he's studied what the catcher is supposed to do (minus the water bottle)?

I believe he was getting ready to give Chad a pitching signal here in this one.....Chad taught him that too.

TOO FUNNY!

4th birthday: part 1

We decided to do a two-part party this year for Chase's birthday. We invited all of his friends to the splash pad for cupcakes for part one. It rained ALL day that day but stopped just in time for the party. So we had the whole place to ourselves and the kids had a blast. Here are most of the kids....shivering......we didn't put the 3 babies through the torture of group photos

The mommy's: Harmony, Shelley, Erica, Kristen and Cara (didn't even attempt a daddy shot...we know how much they love it anyway)

The birthday boy!

Sara's shower

My beautiful cousin, Sara, gets married at the end of this month. Here are some shots from her shower in June. Beautiful gifts (bows made by my aunt Marcia)
The food!!!!! It was awesome!!!
Of course I wanted a group photo....I know that nobody is shocked by that

Aunt Marcia and her nieces (who she gets mixed up all the time......but we love her anyway!) Congratulations Sara.......can't wait for your big day!

Golfing

We've had fun this summer going golfing with Chad. I've only gone a couple of times but Chad and Chase have gone quite a bit while I'm working. Chase loves it!

This is what I do.....sit in the cart and watch....and one time I took a book. I'm sure Chad would teach me how to golf but not sure I want to learn while I'm pregnant. I just enjoy watching them play. Maybe next year!
