we're still here

Hi everyone! I wish I was posting some pictures right now but my computer has denied me of that privilege all week. I'm not sure what's going on but just wanted everybody to know that I'm trying. I'll keep working at it but just know I haven't forgotten about our blog.
Chase is walking everywhere and learning new words. He learned please this week which is huge!!! Take care and hopefully I'll be able to post some pictures soon!

Hey Everybody...I'm walking!!!

Chase Michael has FINALLY decided that it's cooler to walk than crawl. All the kids are doing it I guess. He still crawls some but is mostly choosing to get back up and walk if he falls down. Praise the Lord!!! He's still pretty wobbly and looks funny doing it but he's getting it!!! I'm such a proud mommy right now so I took lots of pictures.
He's also attempting to talk more too. This week we heard "open", "cracker", "basketball"- of course in Chase lingo sounds like "bup baaa" but he is pointing at the game while he says it, and we think "apple". I think right now only Chad and I know that he's actually saying these particular words but I think eventually everyone else will understand him too. I've decided he's never going to say "mommy" (you know..the lady who gave birth to him) so I'm going to stop trying, hopefully he still loves me. :) Enjoy!
What? I already know I'm cool!!!
Look...I can even stand up in the middle of the room with a ball in my hand.

I love cell phones!
And to hold my sippy cup in my mouth while I walk

He LOVES to run around in a diaper!!!
Ok this looks like some kind of funky dance move but it's really Chase in the middle of standing up on his own!!! What a big guy!!!!

18month check-up/root beer

These pictures are of Chase drinking root beer. He LOVES it!!! I had a glass sitting on the table while Chase was napping and he for sure found it when he got up so had a taste. He just kept going back for more. Yummy!

He also saw the doctor for his 18 month check up on Friday. He was NOT impressed!! He did fine playing in the lobby but as soon as we walked in the exam room he hugged Chad tight and started crying. He did not like any part of the visit. Everything checked out ok though.
He is weighing in at 22lbs (5th percentile) and 31 inches long(not sure of that percentile). That would be give or take an inch or two because he was squirming and screaming the whole time the nurse was trying to measure him. He's been hanging around the 3rd percentile in his age group for a while so we were glad to see him make a little jump this time. He's just a little guy, not a big eater, but we love him SOOOOOO much. Someone has to be in the 5th percentile right? :) He's doing well with walking....still crawling part of the time but making good progress. Good job Chase!!

Thanks

Just want to say thanks to everyone for all of the calls, emails, cards, and prayers for us this past week. We are so very grateful for such a good support group and loving family. I'm feeling much better now and will see the doctor again next month for follow up. Hopefully we'll be able to discuss some options then but for now we are just going to chill and enjoy our Chaser man! Thanks again to everyone!

Eagles update

Sorry I've been slacking on posting CC scores. The Eagles won last night against Norwell 51-35!!! They are now 7-9 for the season and play Carroll on Thursday 2-7 at home. Nice job Eagles and coach Graves!

Sledding

We attempted to go sledding on Friday. School was cancelled and I was off work so we took Chase out in the snow. As you can see by the first picture Chase was very excited about the idea. He fell asleep before we even got there, it was only 12 noon, I guess he was tired that day. We probably should have turned around and went home but mommy wanted to play outside so we woke him and bundled up anyway. Sorry Chase but mommy had fun! :) He took a 3 hour nap when we got home. Maybe next year Chase will enjoy the snow a little more. Which sounds like more fun? Sledding or sleeping?
I'm not sure what I think about this..plus I can't move a muscle in all these clothes

Who needs a ball?

Chase has decided than anything can go through his new hoop, not just a ball. Here he is "shooting" a squirt bottle. It would get caught on the net though so he needed help getting it untangled. He now throws anything and everything through the hoop and is still very proud if he makes it.

This picture was just funny....I was talking on the phone and Chase found out he could empty out all of the dvd's from the shelf. At least he was happy I guess. :)
